Rigby
artist statement.
Caitlin Rigby’s expressive free formed works capture her unspoken feelings of life and relationships. The flowing forms given to her subjects ingrain an organic feel, suspended on the whims of a slight breeze. Her fluent line work and subtle colours have become her signature as much as the characters she paints. Faces continually break into patterns and puzzles, following an infinite line of uncertainty which branches endlessly, growing and splitting into wells of colour, shape and form. Rigby forms a truly unique image each time she brings her artistic talent to the table.
"Caitlin Rigby’s free formed works are a serene field of blues and earth-tones, organic and gentle, which offer an introspective look into identity and a new perspective on the age-old art form of portraiture." (Erin Stobie 2016).
