artist statement.

I am an early career artist from Tāmaki Makaurau, New Zealand, and have been continuing to grow and establish my art practice since relocating to Australia in 2023.

Community and collaboration are super important to me and so, Blender provides the perfect space for me to push my practice.

I’ve always been fascinated by the potential of colour and abstraction, and how people personalise and curate their spaces. I work across mediums, and am interested in integrating art and play into everyday environments.

Through my sculpture practice, I like to disrupt spaces and insert art into everyday action and context; making art as throughways and objects to encourage interaction.

Drawing on similar ideas around abstraction and everyday objects, my drawing and painting practice acts as a diary of objects and abstract shapes that I collect through my own experiences. In weaving these together, I hope the compositions encourage the viewer to draw on their own personal memories and associations, encouraging them to create their own unique stories and understanding.
