A Melb Design Week double feature!

As a Part of Melbourne design week, we will be featuring 2 interactive artworks and installation at blender studios

‘HOSTING | HOME TRUTHS’ draws together contemporary spatial practice with archival

materials, interrogating the legacies of labour, care, and control through a series of edible

installations, video works and cartographies. The event will use the table as the center that

draws together bodies, bread, and bowl. The designers invite you in to engage with the

transformation, containment, and consumption of these bodies, leavened and otherwise, as they

are held at the level of the table.

At ‘A MAP ACROSS THE ROOM’ visitors are invited to travel across a room to collectively

create a map with their movement. The entry mat will serve as a stamp pad where red ink is

traced across the exhibition space, illustrating the journey of each visitor with varying degrees of

intensity. Small digital screens displaying short films about domesticity, nostalgia, and ecology

will act as intermediate disturbances to accompany the visitors’ journey. The creation of the map

will be recorded on camera from the ceiling above while its participants are asked to reflect on

their journey through this fictionalised space.
