Dark Horse Experiment is a contemporary art gallery in the Melbourne CBD whose philosophy seeks push the idea of contemporary and experimental art. (It is in essence a research gallery) The gallery opened its doors in 2008 as Michael Koro Galleries but changed its name in 2011 to Dark Horse Experiment.
Its Director Adrian Doyle shares the curatorial responsibility with emerging and experimenting curators. There is a clear determination, however, to maintain the experimental aspect in every exhibition. As to what is exhibited anything goes.
Located in the same building as the Blender Studios that were established in 2001. The Melbourne Projection Window turns all the front windows of the dark horse building into an artist run projection space.
Dark Horse Experiment gallery will always aim to show the most contemporary art research in any medium.
