Artist statement
Bambi is a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice has evolved from more than a decade of graffiti and graphite work.
Working mainly across Graphite, spray paint and acrylic; Bambi creates original drawings, painted canvas and hand-drawn stickers that draw from influences in urban art, typography, music, illustration and pop culture.
The body of Bambi's work moves between highly detailed monochromatic drawings, to bold colourful pieces with a foundation in traditional graffiti.
Bambi's practice reflects an ongoing evolution of personal interests and influences; often incorporating expressive lettering and feminine imagery bringing together the precision of hand drawn illustration with the rawness and spontaneity of graffiti.
Central to the artist's identity is the Bambi Alias, which remains a recurring element, connecting the various mediums and styles within an ever-evolving body of work.
