Uncertain Endings Workshop: Imaginary Clothes

Imaginary Clothes, hosted by Remie Cibis, explores how fashion illustration can envision new forms and futures for dismissed and discarded fashion products. By drawing new clothes onto old clothes, the project seeks to reimagine both cast-off clothing and the productive role of illustration within contemporary fashion practice.

What’s involved?

During this workshop you will be invited to chose an image of a fashion item that you desire from a current fashion magazine, and a discarded second-hand garment to work with. You will then be assisted to draw your desired garment onto your second-hand garment using fabric paint pens and to affix your illustration using an iron. At the end of the workshop you will also have the opportunity to compose a swing-tag describing your illustrative intent, and to have your garment and swing-tag documented as part of the project archive.
