Fitzroy, Brunswick St & Johnston St, Fitzroy VIC 3065, Australia

details.

Starting on the corner of Johnston St and Brunswick St (next to the 7/11) amongst the creative hub of Fitzroy, you will meet your guide (a professional street artist) and venture from here into one of the best outdoor galleries in the world. You will hear first-hand about who the artists are, the current influences and social issues, technical aspects involved in spray painting, stencil art and paste-ups, and all about the significant role street artists have played in making Melbourne one of the most important destinations worldwide for street art. Plus there will be plenty of insider stories that you won't hear anywhere else!

Melbourne Street Art Tours are the first and only street art tours in Australia run by street artists. With local knowledge on just about everything, they will help you discover the endless array of street art that adorns the walls of Melbourne's trendiest suburbs; from huge commissioned murals to hidden painted alleys and laneways. For visitors and locals alike, this tour is the perfect way to delve even deeper into our City's unique art culture, and fittingly finishes at one of Fitzroy's art galleries.

On Saturday 24th, the tour will finish up to Backwoods Gallery where participants will have the opportunity to meet and chat with the Broken Fingaz Crew, a collective of four multi-discipline artists who have travelled the world creating stunning dynamic murals. On Sunday 25th, the tour will finish up to Off the Kerb where participants can listen to one Melbourne's very own street artist's Tinky talk about her art practice and their current exhibition being shown.
